Meet Christal Gresham — The Heart Behind SkinbyChristal

Welcome to SkinbyChristal! I'm Christal Gresham, a retired professional makeup artist with nearly 26 years of experience in the cosmetic industry. My journey in beauty began right after high school graduation in 1981, when I started in cosmetics at Lazarus Department Store in Columbus, Ohio. It was there that my passion for skincare and beauty truly took root.

Originally a military wife living in San Francisco and San Diego, California, I built a remarkable career working with some of the biggest names in the beauty world. Over the years, I've done makeup for cosmetic fairs, celebrity and private clients, cosmetic campaigns, military wife events, weddings, proms, special occasions, beauty pageants, and modeling agencies. I've also done in-house artistry for major retailers including Nordstrom, Marshall Fields, Lazarus, JCPenney, Sax 5th Ave, Bloomingdales, and Macy's.

On the business side, I've had the privilege of working with world-renowned cosmetic brands including Lancôme, Flori Roberts, Shiseido, Clarins, MAC, Estée Lauder, Clinique, Elizabeth Arden, Fashion Fair, Mary Kay, Bobbi Brown, Yves Saint Laurent, Revlon, Chanel, Ultima II, Princess Marcella Borghese, and Christine Dior. I also worked for a New York-based custom blend company called "Vintage Beaute" where I was trained to custom mix color to make foundation, lipsticks, blush, face powder, and eyeshadows — literally making products for customers right in the store on the spot.

The Dream Behind SkinbyChristal

SkinbyChristal was created in my mind years before I ever thought about bringing it to Shopify. I wanted a line that reflected my own skin and the struggles I faced keeping it up and keeping it glowing. My skin has always been my best selling point — customers either wanted their own skin to look like mine, or wanted the makeup look that I was creating.

I began researching organic ingredients in 2015, and by 2016 I was trying out products on myself, family members, and friends. I have formulated organic skincare for all skin types, including babies and children, men and women. My dream is to launch my very own product line on Shopify in the near future.
